I don't have a lot of insight into the furniture market, but my guess is that people who have the money to buy custom furniture will do OK under Trump. But then I don't understand why Berkley Designs went out of business. Berkeley Designs built gorgeous Japanese style furniture for the high end market.

Don't believe anything Trump says. He is a liar and a moron. This makes it difficult to predict what will happen. Serious teriffs would cause economic pain (as you fear) but there would be a political backlash.

My guess is that Trump and those around him are going to keep busy stealing like the Russian oligarchs Trump so admires.

The problem with future is that it is hard to predict. Focus on building your business. I recommend doing carpentry work on the side. I know from personal experience that good carpenters are hard to find.
