I hope and believe that Harris will be our next president. I hope that Trump will go to prison for his crimes. Whatever happens, he will be too old and mentally impaired to be a threat in the future.

There are Trump's MAGA supporters, but I hope that without their cult leader they will just become part of the political fringe.

Assuming that the next election cycle will not be the existential struggle that this one is, it will be time to focus on policy. The Democrats can do better. The era of Clinton's Republican Lite should be in the past.

There is much to be done. There should be Supreme Court term limits. There should be a constitutional amendment that states that no one is above the law, including the President. A majority of states should pass laws that their electoral votes should be awarded to the winner of the popular vote.

This all seems impossible to achieve, but we can dream.
