I lived in New Mexico for two years, just outside Santa Fe. I loved New Mexico. People would sometimes ask me if I missed California, where I was from. I responded that my only fear was that I would have to go back.

The company I worked for in Santa Fe has serious problems. I did, in fact, even up going back to California because I was unable to find another job in the Santa Fe area (I tried hard to get a job at Los Alamos, but didn't succeed).

Water was a serious issue. We had constant drought and the beautiful Pinion Pines around the house started to die. Our well didn't have problems then, but it might have had problems later.

New Mexico is a beautiful state with a rich history. But as this article notes, it is also a state with it's share of problems.
