I was against the Iraq II war from the start and I knew that there were no "weapons of mass destruction". I regard G.W. Bush and those around him as war criminals. Whether this is true or not does not change the fact that Russia is committing crimes in Ukraine.

I'll also point out the the Iraq war as not the first case where the US committed crimes. Viet Nam, for example. But again, US actions do not justify what Russia is doing.

The US and the EU countries are not backing Ukraine out of some noble moral motivation. They are backing Ukraine because many people believe that if Russia wiins in Ukraine they will go after other neighboring counteries. The US has strong cultural and economic interests in Europe. The US will back Ukraine as long as the cost is not direct conflict with Russia (unless Russia uses nuclear or chemical weapons).

Hey! Yes, I agree. But I didn't at any stage say US actions justified Russia's actions. This is not a democracy vs autocracy war as some suggest; NATO is defending its borders and that is best done by giving Ukraine all the military help it needs…
