No, it's not.

I suppose that one could ask what the definition of "intelligent" is. But the large language model based AIs are not more intelligent for any general definition of intelligence.

I use AIs all the time: Google Gemini and Microsoft's CoPilot as a programming assistant. There are useful and save me time. But the answers that Gemini gives me are wrong sometimes and the code that CoPilot suggests is in appropriate or wrong.

Given the stupidity of the human race (think Trump voters) I'd be happy if AI was smarter. Perhaps it would help with the sorry state of the world and the United States. But I'm not holding my breath.
