Putin has screwed Russia for decades to come.

You only get to use the "oil and gas weapon" once. After that, none of your customers will trust you, ever again. In the future they will make sure that they are not as dependent on Russian energy as they are now. This will not happen for some years in the future, but it will happen.

Russia has also shown the world that they have a savage culture. They have reminded us that Stalin, the 4 AM knock on the door and the bullet in the back of the head were not just products of the horrible communist system, but of Russia itself. Now this savage culture is reflected in the attrocities in Ukraine.

Someday the Ukraine war will end and Putin will no longer be in power. When that happens, the world should not forget what Russia has done and the culture that lead to the attrocities.
