The problem is that the collapse of the Russian economy can't happen soon enough. Ukraine is struggling and it looks like it will be a race between the collapse of Russia and whether Ukraine is forced to make concessions to the Orks.

I also fear that Trump will lift some of the sanctions against Russia, giving Putin breathing room.

By their own description, Russia is an enemy of the United States. To lift sanctions and provide aid to Putin would be a traitorous act. But then we know who Trump is.

I have to hope that lifting sanctions will be politically untenable. But this may be a naive hope.
