There's no question about the corruption and looting that will take place with Trump and those around him.

As to the rest: the future is difficult to predict. Trump is stupid and lazy. This makes him poor at building a totalitarian future, since this would require dismantling the existing infrastructure. However, the people around him are not as stupid and lazy. So I find it difficult to understand what will happen.

One waymarker will be whether Trump actually tries to criminally prosecute Special Council Jack Smith and the judges in Trump's cases.

We have learned that the US system of "checks and balances" is much weaker that we knew. But there is still huge institutional inertia. So we will see.
