What ever crimes the United States has committed do not change the crimes that Russia has committed. When it is pointed out that Russia is committing horrible attrocities your respons is "What about..." Sometimes called "What-about-ism".
There is an important difference between the United States and Russia. The wrongs that the United States has committed are, generally, well documented. There is a vast literature on the Vietnam war, Iraq and Afghanistan. While many people do ignore this literature, the fact that it exists and is easily available means that the United States has to come to terms with history.
Although Russia had projects like "Memory" (on the Stalin era, now banned by the government), Russia has not come to terms with its history.
I am careful to differentiate between Russian people and Russian culture. Russian culture produced Lenin and his essays on terrorism and class destruction. Russian culture produced Stalin and the millions he killed. Russian culture produced the destruction of Grozny and the Ukraine war.
Culture defines people. If you move someone out of a culture, they will often be different.
The only hope for Russia is to come to terms with the culture. The Germans were forced to do this after World War II and the Germans today are not the Germans of the Nazi era. Their culture changed.
I grew up during the cold war. I've read a fair amount of Russia history. In the past, I thought that the cold war was overblown. I don't think that any more. What I think now is that I misread the core point of Russian history. Russia has a savage culture that is unaddressed and so, will not change.
After the Soviet era ended, I thought that things would change. I blamed Soviet history on a bad system. I thought that the Russian people, freed from this bad system would join Europe and become like Europeans. I was wrong. The Germans thought something similar. They were wrong.
Putin has crippled Russia for decades. Instead of joining the first world, Russia will be religated to second power status. Right now Russia's economy is about the size of Italy's. Russia will be a minor country with a big nuclear arsenal. For decades people will (or should) remember what Russia has done in Ukraine.
Russia will never again be able to use the weapon of oil and gas. Their customers will never trust them. The countries that border Russia will not trust Russia. At least not until Russia comes to terms with their history, which may never happen.
Many of those nationalities that you mention may breakaway from Russia. There are those who believe that the Ukraine war and the Russian losses will result in the break-up of Russia into smaller states. That might be a good thing, because Russia would be less of a threat to her neighbors and the world.
What is tragic about Russia is that it is a country that has produced great artists, scientists and mathematicians. The rest of the world will benefit from their leaving Russia, where they will have little future.
As to Yandex: I think that it's important to remind people what Yandex is. A Russian company headquartered in Moscow.
